Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated healthcare scientist to join our team for 12 months as maternity leave cover. This role is based in the Urology department, providing the urodynamic service for outpatient, ambulatory and video urodynamics. The successful candidate with be a key part of the multidisciplinary team, working with complex urology patients and will join one of the largest urology departments in the UK providing highly specialist care for patients from across the UK and abroad.
This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. There is a significant direct clinical aspect to the post in the provision of urodynamics services in the Trust. This involves directing and carrying out Pressure/Flow Studies (also known as Cystometrogram or CMG in the Out-Patients Department (OPD), and Video-Cystometrogram, or VCMG, in the Uro-radiology Department) to demonstrate specific clinical symptoms. It involves patient contact, interpretation of clinical investigations and reporting findings to referring clinicians. A high degree of technical and scientific skill and a sound understanding of the clinical background are required. A thorough understanding of all equipment used and their limitations are essential.
