Full Job Description
RPS is looking for a Principal GIS Consultant to join our Ecology GIS team in Birmingham or Manchester to work along side one of our Directors of Ecology who is leading on digital innovations and transformation and help drive change across the business. The candidate will grow, manage and support the ecology GIS team to ensure support for the wider ecology team in delivery of master planning inputs, ecological appraisals, ornithological surveys and studies, other protected species surveys, mitigation design and construction and post-construction supervision and monitoring. Your role
You will have the opportunity to benefit from an exciting and diverse workload, delivering high quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK including exciting infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
You will be building up long-lasting client relationships, generating and effectively managing new business and have responsibility for financial planning and management. You'll project manage a wide and varied workload and supervise internal staff and have technical oversight and sign-off on project output.
You'll also: work with our existing Senior Ecology Team to drive digital innovations and transformation across the division.
Your skills and experience
We would like you to have previously lead a team of GIS consultants within an Ecological Consultancy, and had first hand experience leading digital innovations within the GIS team and across the wider ecology team. You will have helped drive digital transformation stretching further than just data capture and GIS products, allowing the wider ecology team to leverage digital data capture to improve efficiency within internal process and communication of data between ESRI and Microsoft products, including but not limited to Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, Azure and the Dataverse; to, improve speed of delivery and efficiency concerning tracking of progress, reporting, resource and programme management and client facing solutions.
