Full Job Description

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal EC&I Engineer to join the team based out of our Reading office. Scope

  • Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects
  • Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning
  • Own and manage project budgets
  • Built and manage client relationships and leverage those relationships to deliver continued opportunities and new business leads
  • Work on systems integration, testing and validation of systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
  • Produce high-quality technical reports
  • Simplify complex problems and build and maintain valuable relationships

    MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body
  • Previous team leadership, line management, technical lead or Responsible Engineer experience
  • An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
  • An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
  • Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
  • Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment
