Full Job Description

Position Overview : An exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking full stack engineer who thrives on producing customer facing digital experiences.

You will join a leading name in the food and beverage market with 500+ stores across the world. As a Mobile Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence and innovation within your mobile apps team.

Experience in backend APIs is an added advantage. You will lead by example, playing a hands-on role in designing, building, and maintaining mobile applications and back-end microservices.

Additionally, you will impart your knowledge and coach others fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration,

  • Architect and develop scalable and performant mission critical mobile iOS or Android Apps.

  • Engage and contribute actively into the various external interfaces and APIs to improve mobile first capabilities

  • Mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.

  • Drive a culture of quality and innovation , advocating Extreme Programming ways of working

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in Agile processes and code reviews

  • Utilise strong debugging skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in both front-end and back-end systems (including both internal and third-party systems)

  • Experience working on cloud platforms, with knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) being an advantage

  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and solutions is highly desirable

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and advocating for them to be included on the product roadmap and development processes

  • Champion continuous improvement, performance optimisation, and security throughout the development lifecycle

    Proven experience as a hands-on engineer with proficiency in Swift or Kotlin

  • Hands on experience in backend API development using will be an advantage

  • Experience in technical decision making guiding the team to propose solutions which implement standard mythologies so that a maintainable product is produced

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor other engineers

  • Experience working in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), Retail, or E-commerce industries is a plus

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

  • You have a passion for automation tested code and setting high standards for code quality

  • Be a keen team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change through innovation and collaboration

  • Location : Hybrid 2 days per week in our London office
