Full Job Description

  • Demonstrates an extensive knowledge of technologies and/or thought leadership level of knowledge of a technology, providing direction, mentoring and advising others on design, development and / or implementation standard methodology and processes

  • Leads projects and promotes an inclusive and open culture

  • Continues to build and demonstrates a breadth of experience of various domains within technology, understanding the linkages and dependencies of projects/work and the key senior partners.

  • Builds and implements technical solution designs

  • Contributes to technical roadmaps implementing a technical solution strategy

  • Advises team members internally as a domain expert, utilising deep expertise of software development

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own and others' work, holding responsibility for the implementation of strategy and culture within teams. Contributes to define the strategy

  • Evaluates how new technology or techniques may better implement the strategy, proposes patterns for its use and owns the development of reference code to set a standard

  • Understands LSEG's commercial position in the market and how the product / service / domain fits into direction

  • Leads the delivery of meaningful projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure implementation of work from other team members, delegating work when required

  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates complex / technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format.

    Professional qualification or equivalent

  • Some knowledge of multi-application management

  • Significant experience in a Software development and delivery role

  • Significant knowledge of multiple programming languages (Java is the main requirement but others will be a bonus too)

  • Ideally Experience of springboot REST and websocket services, Event-driven messaging (Kafka), SQL (Oracle/SQLServer), Redis

  • Azure - PaaS (EventHub, AzureSQL, Kubernetes, AzureCache, etc), terraform, helm, GitLab CI - or AWS equivalents

  • Software products and expert in at least two of these.

  • Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets.
