Full Job Description

As a Principal Planning Officer focusing on Planning Obligations and Major Infrastructure, you will play a vital role in shaping the borough's future by managing the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 (S106) agreements. You will act as a professional expert, leading a team to ensure robust and transparent decision-making while effectively administering these critical planning tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the full range of CIL and S106 tasks, acting as the Council's definitive expert in this area.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and best practice to deliver a high-quality service.
- Oversee the management and monitoring of S106 agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
- Maintain accurate systems for the collection, allocation, and reporting of S106 and CIL contributions.
- Prepare and update CIL charging schedules and lead the development of related guidance and policies.
- Monitor performance against agreed measures and prepare annual and internal reports on S106 and CIL activity.
- Provide robust data analysis for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Development Management, finance teams, and other Council departments to ensure efficient processes for collecting and allocating contributions.
- Support the delivery of infrastructure projects funded through S106 and CIL agreements.
