Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Principal Practitioner Psychologist to become part of an established psychology team within the Paediatric & Young Adult Liver Service at King's College Hospital (KCH).

The successful post holder will support and develop the delivery of integrated psychological care pathways in liver services at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of high quality clinical psychology services to children and young people (0-25 years) receiving liver care at King's College Hospital (KCH), from diagnosis through to transition to adult services.

The service will be expanding to include 1-2 more psychologists, and the post-holder will have a key role in the expansion of the psychology service and supervision of post holders.

The post will specifically provide clinical psychology support for adolescent/young adult liver patients (12-25 years), including specialist psychological assessment, treatment, liaison with other professionals, planning, and implementation and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will need to be flexible in adapting psychological approaches to work constructively within a medical team. The post holder will also be responsible for the clinical supervision of those providing input to 0-25 years.

To support the operational and clinical leadership team in developing mind and body services / support for children and young people, ensuring current structures are optimised and supporting with strategic development of services for children and young people.

To take an active role in audit, measurement of outcomes and in sharing these with stakeholders.

To assist in the development of business cases potentially grow the team in order to support a more equitable provision of psychological interventions across KCH .

£70,387 to £80,465 a year per annum pro rata including HCA
