As our business continues to grow, we have a strategic requirement to hire a Principal Quality Engineer focusing on supplier audits and development. The Principal Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting client projects through providing engineering support, quality management and control services.   • Support Client Projects by providing quality assurance, management, and control services within Multi-Discipline Teams.
  • Ensure Client and supply-chain adherence to contracted quality requirements and to support Client Programmes in meeting overall project quality standards.
  • Oversee Manufacturing Inspection and Test (MIT) Plans, quality records, NCR facilitation, root cause analysis, and audits, both on Client Sites and at subcontractor locations in the UK and overseas.
  • Collaborate closely with project functions and the supply chain to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient project quality, prioritizing Nuclear Safety.
  • Assess supplier capability to meet current and future business needs.
  • Establish and lead Quality Assurance and Manufacturing/Site Surveillance plans to address identified risks.
  • Assist Quality Auditors in resolving audit findings within the supply chain., The post holder will be a direct report to the Quality Function management structure within the Client Project Team and as such will fulfil a key role to ensure compliance and maintenance with quality arrangements across all aspects of project execution., Continuous professional development opportunities through a learning-focused company that prioritizes training throughout your career.

  • Minimum of 10 years post-academic experience, with 5 years preferably in the nuclear or highly regulated sector.
  • Proficient in improvement techniques like 8D, PDCA, RCA, Kaizen, and process mapping.
  • Experience in large, regulated projects with a focus on product/project quality.
  • Proven team leader and player with strong quality assurance and process management skills.
  • Knowledge of GS-R-3, ISO 9001, ISO 19443, ISO 3834, EN 10204; working knowledge of Licence Conditions LC6, LC17, and ONR TAG 077.
  • Experienced in planning and conducting internal and supplier audits, and reviewing quality records.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and use quality tools like histograms, SPC, and cause-and-effect.
  • Strong communication skills., Member Grade Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
  • Qualified to (preferably engineering) HNC/Diploma/C&G Graduate level as a minimum.
  • IRCA Registered Lead Auditor (Role Specific).
