Principal Revenues Manager

An opportunity has arisen to lead, motivate and develop the Revenues team, who are responsible for the billing and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates for Blackpool and Fylde Council's along with the administration of the Business Improvement District accounts for Blackpool.

We are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and resilience to provide strong leadership, professional advice and direction to the teams and wider stakeholders. You will need to be a collaborative, highly motivated individual used to developing creative organisational solutions.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills to allow you to lead and inspire, whilst promoting a culture which is positive, forward looking, results orientated, and customer focused enabling team managers to develop their teams and team performance.

You will be expected to make a significant contribution to planning, improving and developing the service, working with other departments as necessary to deliver required outcomes.

You will need excellent communication skills along with experience of dealing with technical collection and recovery issues to respond to complaints and escalated customer enquiries, in writing, over the telephone, and through face to face contact.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates collection and recovery legislation, practices, systems, developments and issues and will be able therefore to drive improved performance and efficiency.
