Full Job Description
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and enthusiastic team, accountable for the concept definition, design, integration of Labcar model Simulations for System & software Integration testing. This is an expert role, instrumental in the conception of the future strategy for new test methodologies and procedures.,
- Working with EE Test Manager lead the concept definition, design, integration, and validation of test solutions for electronic / electromechanical equipment and systems for the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles within System Integration Test Team.
- The role requires working with the cross functional teams to understand forthcoming vehicle programmes and develop test and development strategies, translating this into a test architecture proposal and then working with the design teams to deliver it.
- Defines Labcar Deliver plan > IP adherence to ensure programme milestones met.
- Lead update and verification of Labcar builds and Labcar Simulation (POC).
- Prioritisation of issue resolution (in agreement with Manager and Head)
- Design and develop state of the art Labcar dSPACE Simulations for System Integration testing including various domains like ADAS, Motion Control, Body, Battery Simulator etc. and oversee build of Labcar.
- Utilize expertise in dSPACE, NI, Vector, and other simulation tools to implement and execute Labcar simulations including development and maintenance of simulation models, scripts, and configurations to support various testing scenarios.
- Lead the definition, interpretation, and development of the V&V requirements for System Integration tests to deliver a robust system on time and to the appropriate quality and legislative standards.
- Perform vehicle architecture analysis to define test system requirements.
- Deliver real world test scenarios in simulation to assist automated testing.
- Lead the V&V activity within the System Integration Test team across multiple vehicle lines ensuring robust issue rectification, consistency & repeatability.
- Produce detailed, technical system definition and validation documentation including Labcar / Rig issues lessons learned document.
- Lead the continuous introduction of new technologies, tool chain and processes to enhance the testing process at AML.
- Lead test property issue analysis and support product defect root cause analysis and become the primary point of contact for all technical concerns in relation to Labcar HiL.
- Provide technical input to management team for decision making.
Experience and a proven track record in developing test strategy and designing test environments. - Advanced skills in MathWorks tools (MATLAB, Simulink, State flow); Control desk, Automation desk.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory electrical instrumentation (oscilloscope, prog. power supply, multimeter).
- Advanced knowledge of Vector Canalyzer/CANoe/Canape tools, Vector VT systems.
- Advanced knowledge of test scenario creation using IPG Carmaker, DSPACE Motion Desk, Aurelian or similar.
- Expert knowledge of dSPACE HIL toolchain; Significant expertise with the Simulink real time, dSPACE tools and National Instruments tools.
- Expertise of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, FlexRay, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Proven experience within an automotive vehicle manufacturer, supplier, or consultancy, designing test environments for automotive systems.
- Sound understanding in system architecture / networks, and system integration for motion control automotive applications.
- Familiarity with the creation of scripts in CAPL language.
- Significant experience in systems engineering, requirements, and test cases definition for safety critical automotive systems
- Good practice in electrical troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of electronic and electric architecture for a road vehicle.
- Practical experience of continuous integration or similar.
- Knowledge of vehicle controllers, systems and / or features, e.g. chassis and / or EV powertrain.
- Knowledge of automotive homologation and legal / regulatory requirements as applied to system testing.
- Project management and supplier management skills
- Familiarity with MS Office suite
- Educated to Degree level in Electrical / Software Engineering or related discipline.
- Member of the IMechE, IET or similarly recognized international institution. Behaviours:
