Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Telford and Wrekin Council for the position of Principal Social Worker in Adult Social Care. This is a statutory role with responsibility for the assurance of the delivery of our statutory duties under The Care Act as well as other key legislative functions. It is expected that the Principal Social Worker will drive forwards excellent adult social care practice and legal literacy, alongside the Leadership Team and working closely with the Director of Adult Social Care, and the Principal Occupational Therapist to ensure statutory duties are robustly executed. This is a highly visible role, where the focus on strengthening practice and assuring quality is a priority, ensuring high standards across the service, as well as with our partners. The Principal Social Worker will work beyond setting the practice framework, to embed and constantly develop procedures and practice, ensuring that the people we support are always central to our work. The Principal Social Worker will lead on targeted practice development, Co-production and transformation programmes. The Principal Social Worker will sustain strong networks internally and externally, enhancing the reputation and influence of social care across our Borough, as well as regionally and nationally. The post holder will be passionate, driven, and able to respond efficiently; delivering change in an ever-changing landscape to the high standard and innovative ways expected within Telford and Wrekin Council.
