Full Job Description

As a consulting/principal software engineer, you provide assistance and input to management, develop and lead large multifunctional development activities, solve complex technical problems, design solutions, write complex code, and serve as a senior source of expertise. You may also provide sizing or budget recommendations to management.,

  • Serving as a primary technical point of contact for internal and external technology resources. Provide design input across a product.
  • Writing and creating quality software by following development best practices and processes for testing and coding
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide support and guidance for the full software development life cycle of products
  • Designing, create and build scalable, sustainable and architecturally sound solutions. Providing direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members and partners to develop their skills in software development and best practice

    Expertise in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, Scala/Python, XML, JSON, SQL, Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Expertise with RESTful web services, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka etc.
  • Experience with relational SQL, NoSQL databases and cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, database application design, application development and maintenance. Solid knowledge of architectural principles.
  • Able to administer the delivery of successful projects and to solve problems through innovation, prototyping, findings alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.
  • Experience in data modelling, design and manipulation, optimization, best practices, tuning, and leading industry trend knowledge.
  • Experience organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
  • Nice to have Skills:
  • Acquaintance with data harvesting, transformation of data, data stream processing to build modern data processing pipeline.
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, EMR etc.)
  • Experience working with JSON-LD and XML standards (XQuery, XPath, xsd etc.)
  • Familiar with DevOps tools and processes of continuous integration and continuous deployment. (e.g. Jenkins, antifactory, puppet, terraform etc.)
