Full Job Description

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a varied and challenging workload. Your primary role will be to analyse and respond to Transport Assessments for major developments. You will also play a leading role in preparing the County Council's Strategic Transport Assessments which inform the spatial planning proposals of Warwickshire's five District/Borough Councils. Through this work you will identify, design and develop multi-modal solutions to transport challenges. You can also expect to lead the development and help implement a transport strategy for a specific area of the County and to project manage individual transport schemes from their inception to delivery.

  • To be motivated, creative and have good organisational skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills in order to evaluate and interpret transport data and modelling outputs.
  • Skills to develop detailed understanding of transport problems and to identify, explore and develop solutions.
  • Advanced excel skills to analyse and manipulate complex data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be used to providing technical information to varied audiences.
  • To be educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in transport planning and specifically transport modelling is desirable, but not essential as on-the-job training will be given.
  • The successful applicant will be appointed at Engineering Level 4. This post is advertised on a full-time basis, but applications from candidates seeking flexible or part-time working arrangements will be considered., The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
