Full Job Description

Lead the product system activities for control systems in the UK and Ireland.The principle system integration engineer is responsible for leading the integration of all control systems products within the control systems products team. This role covers the full scope of control system products including hardware and software and all product ranges (Sapphire, Delphin, MCS, M-ARS). This role includes.

  • Eliciting and documenting requirements from internal and external customers
  • Acting as the internal customer during hardware and software development
  • Building and configuring test rigs to enable software and system testing
  • Providing technical support to projects including building and configuring systems ready for FAT
  • Deliver technical support during project commissionings
  • Supply end user customer support
  • Responsibilities
  • Ensure products meet customer requirements.
  • Guarantee products conform to industry standard reliability, maintainability and safety principles.
  • Check conformity of control systems products to systems standards, agreed system architecture, client standards and company procedures.
  • Support to safety assurance on the application CSM on allocated projects / products including the development of Generic and Specific Application Safety Cases.
  • Work with the Systems Engineering Manager to establish matters of best practice.

    A high degree of computer and software literacy, including Microsoft Windows System and Domain Administration.
  • Electronic hardware experience including components, technologies and protocols.
  • Software testing experience including unit, component and integration testing experience.
  • Ability to liaise with all stakeholders including customers, supplier and project delivery staff.

  • Technical report writing, MSc or BSc level education in an engineering related subject, preferably software engineering or equivalent., Detailed understanding of Railway control systems including protocols, processes and standards.
  • Good knowledge of client and systems standards and legislation.
  • Knowledge of the UK railway safety approval processes including EN50128
  • Good knowledge of systems engineering and railway signalling principles., Commercial and financial awareness, Corporate Member of an engineering institute, Experience working in a railway control systems engineering environment.
