Full Job Description

Reporting to the Print Services Manager, a team of 9 people, working out of a newly refurbished facility in Waterloo. The team provides overnight business critical documents for use in the House of Commons chamber as well as serving the printing needs of departments during the day. The role requires shift working on a rotating basis to service the needs of the chamber from 7am to the early hours of the morning. Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Operation of Canon digital production printers.
  • Operation of finishing equipment. (booklet makers, guillotine, wire-binding, paper drill, perfect binder and padding press)
  • Preparing PDF copy for print.
  • Administration and housekeeping of the equipment and machinery.
  • Processing work via a web-based ordering system.

    To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
  • Experience of working in a digital print environment, preferably using Canon mono digital print machinery (VP140 and Titan 6330) and Canon colour digital print machinery with Fiery RIPS (C10010 and C910) to produce a range of printed materials.
  • Experience of using a range of finishing equipment including booklet makers, guillotines, wire-o binding, paper drill, perfect binder, crease, and score, folding, producing work to a high standard.
  • Good IT skills with experience of using software (e.g. Digital Storefront) in relation to the production of printed material, including Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment and managing relationships with a variety of customers., Disability Confident
