Vivienne Westwood is looking for a Privacy and Compliance Specialist to join the Legal Team in the Battersea Office on a full time basis.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Privacy and Compliance Specialist to join our Legal Team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other data protection laws, as well as broader regulatory compliance in the UK. You will report to the UK Legal Counsel and work closely with various different departments to assess, implement, and monitor compliance and data protection measures, ensuring adherence to both privacy regulations and applicable legal standards., Privacy:
+ Develop, implement and maintain GDPR compliance strategies, policies, and procedures across the organization.
+ Maintain and regularly update the organization's data inventory and records of processing activities (RoPA).
+ Conduct data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate risks related to personal data processing.
+ Advise and support various internal departments on GDPR-related issues, ensuring the secure and compliant handling of personal data.
+ Monitor data processing activities to ensure they align with GDPR's principles, including lawfulness, transparency, and data minimization.
+ Coordinate the management of any data breach incidents, including the investigation, notification, and remedial actions and respond to any data subject access requests (DSARs) in compliance with GDPR timelines and regulations.
+ Ability to provide internal training and awareness programs on GDPR and data protection best practices for staff across the organization.
Compliance:
+ Actively assist Legal Counsel and Sustainability Team in developing and enforcing company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including ESG and upcoming industry-specific regulations).
+ Identify compliance risks and ensure they are mitigated in timely manner, working closely with the Legal Counsel to implement changes to company processes where required and ensuring that the company's practices remain compliant.
+ Stay up to date on developments in GDPR, upcoming UK regulations and industry standards.
+ In-depth knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws and UK compliance frameworks.
+ Proven experience in GDPR and compliance management, ideally in a corporate or regulated environment, with expertise in project management from initiation through to implementation and advising senior stakeholders.
+ Leading gap analysis for privacy and compliance matters.
+ Experience in implementing compliance changes in business processes to reduce legal risks.
+ Knowledge of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) is desired.
