Are you ready to make a significant impact on a dynamic and growing company? We are seeking a talented Process Chemist to join the Manufacturing and R&D team at our Sheffield site. In this position you will be a member of the R&D team working cross functionally supporting the team at our Sheffield site. In the role you will be responsible for...

  • Work from R&D to implement new formulations and processes onto the production plant
  • SCADA recipe installation & problem solving
  • Formula set up and maintenance in Oracle systems
  • Assist in and oversee Scale-up process and trials as formulas transfer from R&D to plant
  • Become proficient in the use of the Formula Manufacturing Assurance Programme (FMAP)
  • Provision of R&D support to the production plant
  • Process change/Improvement investigation work
  • Help with production batch corrections & rework investigation
  • Involvement in change management, troubleshooting and root cause investigations
  • Other lab support to the quality assurance and consumer services departments

    Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
  • Basic laboratory skills
  • Effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Confidence in presenting in formal or informal environments
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond positively to changing priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative
  • Preferred:
  • Masters Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
  • Previous industrial/chemistry experience
  • Six Sigma knowledge
  • Ability to work successfully in a matrixed organization
  • Paints/coatings formulation experience
  • Driving license is preferred due to occasional travel
