Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineering Lead to join the management of our Process Innovation and Digital Solutions team.

This role will be instrumental in driving digitisation and automation programs aimed at improving member journeys, enhancing efficiency, optimizing processes, and delivering innovative solutions across the organisation.

This position will work on a hybrid basis aligned to either Exeter or any one of our Aptia offices in the UK.
What you'll be doing:

  • Strategic Planning:


  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the strategic direction for digitisation and automation programs aligned with business objectives. Drive the design and implementation of innovative solutions to enhance processes and systems.
  • Process Design:


  • Lead the design of digital and automated processes across various functional areas within the organization. Utilize data-driven approaches to analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and identify opportunities to optimize performance.
  • User Interaction Design:


  • Review existing customer touchpoints, and data and feedback (including NPS scores, complaints and E&O data). Use UI/UX frameworks and tools to revisit and improve the design of these interactions, including making them digital-first and automation-ready.
  • Requirement Gathering:


  • Oversee the documentation of requirements for digital technologies and automation solutions, working closely with solution analysts, product owners and architects to ensure they are fit for purpose and lead to the creation of robust application modules and functionality.
  • Performance Monitoring:


  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of digitisation and automation programs. Monitor coverage of automated solutions, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Team Leadership:


  • Mentor and coach a team of analysts, process engineers and cross-functional collaborators. Provide guidance, support, and expertise to empower team members to excel in their roles and drive innovation.
  • Risk Management:


  • Proactively identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business units, IT, and external partners. Communicate project updates, milestones, and outcomes effectively to ensure alignment and support.
  • Collaboration and Communication:


  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to gather requirements, provide updates, and solicit feedback on process engineering initiatives.
  • Change Management:


  • Drive organisational change and adoption of digital solutions and automation through effective change management strategies. Engage with stakeholders to address concerns, provide training and support, ensure successful adoption and integration of innovative solutions.

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for driving innovation.

  • Deep knowledge of the UK Pensions industry, with experience driving large change programs across different business areas (member and scheme operations).

  • Experience working with process design and automation initiatives

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working with wireframing and design tools like Figma

  • Experience in Project Management roles, Proficiency in project management tools and techniques. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
