We act as the bridge between Roche's business functions and our suppliers to understand their needs, find opportunities, and add value far beyond cost savings. The Opportunity: As the Procurement Analytics & Insights Lead, your role is crucial in shaping and driving a data-driven culture and mindset in Global Procurement. Your ownership and continuous improvement of our procurement analytics strategy, frameworks, and solutions directly contribute to and enable the value we deliver to Roche and our patients. You will guide the data-driven approach to procurement, driving insights, forecasting, and strategy to enhance the organisation's sourcing, contracting, category management, and supplier management activities. You will be responsible for the business insights internal support service, developing and implementing procurement analytics solutions, ensuring data quality and governance, and providing actionable insights that support decision-making, cost savings, and efficiency improvements. You bring technical skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in procurement processes to influence and shape business outcomes. As the Global Procurement Analytics & Insights Lead, you will oversee a team organised by business insights, analytics solutions, and data engineering and focus on delivering key areas of responsibility, including:

  • Strategic Analytics & Insights:
  • + Developing and leading the analytics strategy for Global Procurement. + Overseeing spend analysis, cost savings tracking, and risk analysis. + Collaborating with senior leadership to set and achieve procurement and business objectives through data-driven insights. + Guiding your teams to generate actionable insights using advanced analytics, data mining, and predictive modelling to support procurement decisions. + Collaborating with IT to define the data product strategy for our Demand-to-pay (D2P) enterprise data mesh.
  • Data Management & Governance:
  • + Establishing data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across procurement systems. + Overseeing the integration of various data sources, including ERP and non-ERP systems and external supplier databases. + Leading initiatives to improve data quality and availability, ensuring the team can leverage accurate data for reporting and analysis.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Relationship Management:
  • + Working closely with procurement, finance, and other key stakeholders to understand business needs and align analytics (services and solution portfolios) offerings. + Organise regular presentations to communicate procurement analytics strategy, insights, and trends to leadership and stakeholders. + Maintain a collaborative relationship with Finance, IT, Roche Services and Solutions, and other Roche internal functions.
  • Technology & Process Improvements:
  • + Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new technologies and tools (e.g., AI, ML, RPA) to enhance analytics capabilities and streamline procurement processes. + Continuously improving procurement analytics processes, methodologies, and tools to drive innovation and efficiency. + Leading digital transformation efforts within procurement to transition from traditional to data-centric processes and decision-making.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • + Leading, managing, and inspiring a large team of analytics professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture based on analytics and insights. + Mentoring and developing a high-performing leadership team, supporting professional growth and development while fostering a culture of accountability, insights delivery, and continuous improvement. Who you are: You have deep analytics expertise, a solid background in analysis, modelling, and visualisation, and both passion and resiliency to help shape the future of our performance-and data-focused culture.
  • You hold a Master's degree in business management, data science/analytics, finance, or a related field and at least 10 years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, or a related field.
  • You are an experienced people manager with at least five years of managerial experience in a global, matrixed organisation who has led a team and driven individual and team performance.
  • You have experience driving and delivering high-impact procurement analytics and insight activities and a track record of achieving measurable results and outcomes.
  • You have advanced proficiency in analytical software, techniques, and tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • You have strong influencing and presentation skills, can translate data into actionable insights, and have the ability to convey complex information and meaningful messages to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are known for your excellent leadership and communication skills, demonstrable ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams, and agility in adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred:
  • Exceptionally qualified applicants with many years of relevant experience but without a Master's degree are also encouraged to apply.

  • You deeply understand core procurement activities and have practical experience with processes, data, and systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa), especially using technology and advanced analytics.
