Full Job Description

The Procurement Category Manager will lead the strategic procurement of supplies and services to Corserv (with emphasis on central services type procurement categories) through the professional application of procurement techniques, contract management and fostering/ developing strategic supplier relationships and logistics strategies to provide resilience in the supply chain and meet the timely provision of goods, services and works.

As the principal lead in identifying, managing and realising procurement improvements, the role will also be pivotal in developing and maintaining constructive relationships across the Corserv business divisions and the overall supply chain, influencing senior leadership and stakeholders.

Other duties will included -

to manage and lead the professional procurement of the diverse range of goods, services and works for Corserv
develop the Corserv's procurement strategy and input strategic procurement aims and objectives into the Company Business Plan
provide effective management and leadership of Corserv's supply chain to ensure Best Value is achieved and continuity of supply is secured
manage, monitor and develop all of the contracts, framework tenders and agreements for the supply of goods, services and works
plan and execute effective negotiation processes with suppliers, completing the due diligence and integration activities for the spend categories
to lead, manage, motivate and develop indirectly reporting team members and to assist in identifying personal objectives including training and personal development needs.

To be successful, you will ideally have previous public sector procurement experience (desirable but not essential), an understanding of relevant regulations, experience of using Pro-Contract E-Tendering Portal, placing FTS and Contracts Finder notices etc.

This role requires full professional qualification and membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or a relevant degree or equivalent experience with a willingness to work towards.

You should also demonstrate:

significant experience in contract tendering and procurement.
a proven track record of successful change management, implementing and delivering new working policies and procedures along significant structural change.
a track record of success in leading team members in strategic procurement services to achieve organisational aims and objectives.
experience of developing partnership working, building effective working relationships and enhancing the reputation of the Company with internal stakeholders and external supply chain partners.
proven experience of financial management, health and safety requirements and risk management.
up-to-date knowledge and application of the policy and legislative framework relating to public sector procurement.

Salary: £36,095 to £46,598 per annum

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Base: This role is hybrid working from home and office (with our Bodmin offices as base)
