Full Job Description
- Two positions available - 1x Procurement Category Manager for IT & Professional Services and 1x Procurement Category Manager for Construction & Estates, We are looking to recruit 1x Procurement Category Manager for IT & Professional Services and 1x Procurement Category Manager for Construction & Estates. Experience in these sectors are highly desirable.
- Responsible for assigned categories, providing procurement support from routes to market to contract execution, ensuring that VfM and social and environmental value is achieved.
- Responsible for a wide group of procurement categories, fully delivering end to end procurements for goods and services required
- Identify and lead on collaborative and consolidated procurement activities, including benchmarking and working with other departments to create procurement strategies and pipelines
- Conduct VfM reviews of organisational spend, identifying areas for efficiency and service improvement
- You will play a pivotal role in delivering the Procurement Strategy and Category Management for the Trust
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies capable of delivering towards annual target savings
- Consolidate and rationalise the supply base and seek leverage opportunities for economies of scale
- Promote good procurement and contracting practices and provide advice and guidance across the organisation through information and training, sharing best practice to ensure compliance

CIPS membership or other relevant professional membership - Sound understanding of Procurement law and an in depth understanding of procurement processes and procedures, regulations, and governance
- Conversant with spend analytics systems, extraction of MI and manipulating data into plans.
- Experience in selection of routes to market, sourcing strategies. Conversant in procurement competitions, frameworks, direct awards and using specialist procedures
- Confident in defining, constructing, and managing complex procurement and executing contracts
- Comfortable with supplier negotiations and dealing with a range of internal stakeholders
- An understanding of the social housing regulatory regime and previous line management experience would be an advantage
