- Technical skills (detailed within each role description) Once you accept your offer you will be invited to join LinkedIn groups and pre-joining webinars, to enable you to connect and network with new students. You will join IPUnite, GSK's community of over 250 students across all UK sites and business areas, run by the Industrial Placement students committee and will receive access to GSK resources, including employee assistance programmes, private healthcare, and well-being programs. The Role Overview of the Department Procurement in GSK is a global function, with over 500 employees around the world, based in 40+ countries, and is responsible for proactively managing more than £8 Billion of supplier spend. Procurement activity includes managing a range of goods and services that can be split into direct and indirect categories. The direct category includes materials that are purchased that will go into the actual medicines and vaccines that GSK sells into markets worldwide. Indirect categories are goods and services that are purchased by the organisation to support its operations and commercial activities, these include: research and development, marketing services, capital equipment, facilities services, IT and travel. Global Procurement's objectives are: 1. Increase our value delivery: drive savings to meet business targets, whilst ensuring quality and supply. 2. Make buying simpler: Procurement understands business needs and connects GSK employees seamlessly to the right suppliers. Key Placement Activities Your year with us will be spent working as part of a team on structured and challenging projects and activities. The Procurement department support all GSK business areas, including manufacturing, sales and marketing, and research and development. This diversity of projects is reflected in the range of placements available. Wherever you're based, you will put into practice the business skills you've gained at university, learn from experienced colleagues, and network with a wide community of business professionals, customers, and other undergraduates. The knowledge and experience you gain will help you to stand out from the crowd and give you a firm idea about your future career options. As well as learning all about Procurement, you'll develop core personal skills such as communication, planning, organisation, problem solving, team-working and networking. Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in any subject. Please read the degree requirements for each role carefully before applying. Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement. If you have already graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme. Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English
