Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Bristol. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our procurement processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, overseeing procurement activities, and ensuring that all purchasing processes are cost-effective and comply with company policies.
The Procurement Officer will report directly to the Head of Operations and will play a key role in driving continuous improvement within our procurement processes and ensuring that all supplier contracts and relationships are managed effectively. Principal Responsibilities

Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support the effective procurement of services and resources essential for project delivery.
Supplier Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation and selection of suppliers, including reviewing costs.
Supplier Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process, including negotiating NDAs, contracts, and ensuring supplier questionnaires are completed.
Ongoing Supplier Relationships: Manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure effective performance and compliance.
Contract Management: Manage the renewals of software and operations contracts, including those related to maintenance, insurance, and calibration.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate prices and terms of software and operations contracts, to ensure cost-effective and efficient procurement.
Supplier Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with critical or highly utilised suppliers, and proactively investigate alternative suppliers to mitigate potential disruptions.
Budget Management: Develop and oversee procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
SAP Business ByDesign: Oversee supplier-related processes in SAP Business ByDesign, including setting up new suppliers, creating "Shopping Carts," and converting them to "Purchase Orders."
Documentation: Provide reports, documentation, and information to stakeholders to ensure transparency and efficiency in procurement activities.
MSAs: Manage the renewal and negotiation of client Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and contracts, ensuring project team awareness and compliance.

Essential:
Previous purchasing/procurement experience is essential.
Excellent supplier management and negotiation skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Effective interpersonal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:
Certifications in procurement (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar).
Experience with SAP Business ByDesign.
