Full Job Description

We have a great opportunity within our Procurement team in Birmingham to join on a 12-month fixed term contract as a Procurement Specialist. Within this role you will be required to provide operational support to the Strategic Procurement Team across all aspects of the purchase of goods and services by the firm and the supply of services by the firm to its clients.,

  • Support end-to-end procurement activity including RFx, bid evaluation and negotiations.

  • Lead on negotiations to optimise overall commercial position.

  • Leading assigned sourcing initiatives, which vary in terms of scope and categories.

  • Review proposals from suppliers and consult with requesters.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost avoidance by working closing with cross functional stakeholders

  • Benchmark and evaluate procurement costs and deliver cost savings against a target.

  • Support all parts of the firm regarding advice on procurement management processes.

  • Work with support departments, (Compliance/Finance/HR etc.,) to ensure compliance & risk management.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective supplier relationship.

  • Review and negotiate terms for contracts and renewals.

  • Manage end-to-end process of onboarding new suppliers to the procurement system. Ensure that suppliers meet all necessary requirements, documentation is complete, and the onboarding process is efficient and compliant.

    We are looking for someone with proven experience in a procurement role within a service-delivery oriented organisation. The ideal applicant will possess negotiation skills with suppliers and an understanding of commercial terms and conditions.

The candidate should also be adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, showcasing effective communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
