Full Job Description
Bring the back-end operational support to the capabilities of our Creative Play Lab (innovation department) to help shape the future of play. The LEGO Group is looking for a resourceful, proactive, and meticulous Producer with experience of front-end physical product innovation to support our capability teams in their work. No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Core Responsibilities
- Establish and manage relationships with global vendors - Work alongside our procurement, legal and finance teams to organise budgets, Statements of Work, onboarding, purchase orders, consent forms, NDAs, GDPR, etc. for our external agencies and freelancers.
- Lead capability team operations - Lead teams in operational problem solving, sourcing experimental materials and equipment, shipping prototypes globally and implementing capability initiatives.
- Take ownership of kids testing - Own all operational aspects of our global kids testing programme by working with our recruitment vendors, setting up test environments, organising incentives, consent, NDAs, safeguarding, risk assessments, GDPR compliance, etc.
- Spearhead team budgeting - Lead teams in planning their yearly Activity Build Ups (ABUs), take ownership of meeting internal deliverables in line with our financial calendar and be the first point of contact regarding budget tracking and cost questions.
- Manage and maintain our physical spaces - Spearhead initiatives to optimize our space so it empowers teams to do their best work including organizing maintenance of the audio-visual technology, mics, camera's etc in our kids testing space. Play your part in our team succeeding The Creative Play Lab is the innovation engine within the LEGO Group, imagining radically new ways to play with the LEGO brick and pioneering the future of play. The Producer role works cross-functionally to support multiple capabilities, helping empower the teams to do their best work. The objective is to 'give time back' to our specialists by taking a range of planning, organisational, operational, logistical and administrative tasks away from them while facilitating world class project planning and exceptional communications. By working across multiple teams Producers are well placed to implement systems to improve velocity and quality across the Creative Play Lab - highlighting opportunities for collaboration and alignment and then leading teams through to the execution of these new initiatives.
- Several years of experience working in Project Management and/or Operations Management in the field of Innovation/Research/Recruitment/Product Design.
- Experience in front-end innovation for physical products in an environment with frequent pivoting and abundant uncertainty.
- Determination to learn and deeply understand our processes then the conviction to work within the 'red tape' and defend these processes and policies when under pressure to execute.
- Disciplined and pragmatic in coordinating multiple stakeholder requirements, turning ideas into actionable next steps, defining clear deadlines and responsibilities.
- Organised and capable of managing a very large number of operational task flows at once.
- Flexibility in working hours as research sessions often happen in the afternoons and evenings. Ability to work on-site at the London office an average of 3 days per week.
- Able to inject energy and passion into organisation, operations, logistics and processes. Resilient and persistent when investigating solutions to hard operational challenges.
- Able to work fast and effectively within our platforms including Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Coupa and SAP.
- Adaptable and empathetic, able to work with a large range of different personality types.
- Written and spoken proficiency in English required.
