Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Product Design Technician to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Gen Product Structure in Kent, UK . Shifts: Monday to Friday office hours with the advantage of flexible working.

  • In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Enhancing Product Quality: By creating and checking complex models and drawings, you'll ensure high-quality specifications that meet all standards.
  • Maintaining Standards: Your work will ensure compliance with company, industry, national, and international standards, maintaining the integrity of Cummins products.
  • Mentoring and Training: By mentoring less experienced Product Designers, you'll help build a stronger, more knowledgeable team.
  • Improving Efficiency: Utilizing CAD data management tools for configuration control and security will streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensuring Precision: Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing will ensure precise and accurate product specifications.
  • Supporting Engineering: Collaborating with engineering to generate concept models will support innovation and development.
  • Quality Assurance: Participating in Drawing Quality Reviews will help maintain high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional Engagement: Engaging with various functional areas will foster collaboration and ensure comprehensive solutions., To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    Proficiency with CAD Tools: Experience using CREO (8.0 or higher) and Windchill is essential. Familiarity with CREO Schematic will be an added advantage.
  • Technical Skills in Cabling & Harness Creation: Ability to create and manage cabling and harness designs effectively.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing: A solid grasp of GD&T principles to ensure precise and accurate product specifications.
  • Mechanical Design Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to design innovative and robust concepts that meet Cummins and customer expectations throughout the product lifecycle., Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as graphic design.
