Full Job Description

We are looking for undergraduate students to join our Basildon head office and plant for a 12-month placement in Vehicle and Structural Testing, starting in July-August 2025. This role focuses on developing New Holland and Case IH tractors to achieve engineering targets for performance, quality, and reliability.,

  • Support the Product Validation team with vehicle, component, and structural testing, ensuring all testing meets industry standards.
  • Prepare vehicles, components, and subassemblies for testing, including installation of necessary instrumentation.
  • Set up and run lab or test track-based testing, including:
  • + Full vehicle durability and fatigue testing of major components + Functional and durability tests of ancillary components + Testing of hitches, drawbars, and linkages + Exhaust systems testing and strain gauge applications + Measurement of temperatures, pressures, and other parameters + Calibration of test systems and transducers + Functional measurements of brakes, hydraulics, and PTO performance + Noise and vibration measurement
  • Analyse and interpret acquired test data, investigating and reporting on test concerns and results.
  • Assist with workshop activities, prototype builds, and parts identification.

    Enthusiastic candidates with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Pursuing a degree in mechanical, automotive, agricultural engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with agricultural equipment or basic workshop tools is beneficial but not essential.
  • High standard of computer literacy.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Flexibility to travel to dealers, suppliers, or test sites as needed.
