Product Director, Next Generation UK Real Time Payments and Products Product Director, Next Generation UK Real Time Payments and Products Overview This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Product Management function in Vocalink Limited, the UK company that enables the payments of 90% of salaries, 70% of utility bills, most ATM transactions and every cheque cleared in the UK. The successful candidate will become part of a high functioning team, dedicated to delivering secure and resilient services for the benefit of over 60 million citizens and the UK private, public and third sectors every day. 14 billion transactions, with a value more than £11 trillion, will be processed in 2024. Vocalink is a Mastercard business whose products include Bacs Direct Credits, Bacs Direct Debits, Faster Payments, the LINK ATM network for cash withdrawals, and the Image Clearing Service (ICS) that supports cheque clearing. You will report to the VP for UK Real Time Payments and Reporting and Analytics and work closely with other Product and Delivery team members. You will play a critical role in supporting Vocalink's growth strategy. Role Overview Real time payments are taking off around the globe! In the UK, Faster Payments was launched in 2008. In 2024, we will process 5 billion Faster Payments transactions with a value of over £4 trillion, representing growth of c. 12% over 2023. The UK market is now looking ahead to the next generation of real time payment products. That is the focus of this new Product Director role, along with exploring and developing opportunities for Vocalink to grow its range of products and services for the UK market. In the role, you will build a deep knowledge and understanding of:

  • The UK market and the forthcoming HM Treasury National Payments Vision.
  • Mastercard's real time payments solutions and roadmaps and their applicability to the UK market.
  • The global landscape including market developments, regulatory environment, emerging trends, financial crime solutions and other key topics such as CBDCs and digital identity.
  • You will:
  • Work with Mastercard and Vocalink colleagues in identifying opportunities and shaping existing and new solutions for the UK market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in identifying and developing innovation opportunities.
  • In addition, your role will include:
  • Building effective and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supporting in the development of product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Monitoring and managing product performance with a relentless focus on raising the bar.
  • Promoting a customer and product-centric culture across all teams involved in delivery so that we provide a great experience through our products.
  • Developing and inputting to relevant business cases.
  • Prioritising projects, activities and resources in support of the product strategy.
  • Using relevant corporate tools (e.g. Aha).
  • Inputting into the budget and planning processes.
  • Owning contract and policy compliance for customer and relevant supplier relationships.

    Education: at least an undergraduate degree.
  • Experience: product management, payments or financial services within a complex stakeholder environment.
