Full Job Description

As the Product Editor, you'll be responsible for product copy across the site, meeting daily and weekly Photo Studio targets while always ensuring product descriptions are SEO-friendly and on-brand. You will manage and oversee the team of Product Writers, ensuring the accuracy and tone of the product details pages and acting as the main point of contact for all things product copy. You will also manage the back-end sizing displays, ensuring sizing conversions are accurate across multiple brands. We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, a natural flair for copywriting and the ability to balance competing deadlines.

  • Managing the team of Product Writers in the Harlow studio, taking responsibility for product descriptions and size and fit information
  • Setting the daily targets to ensure the effective running of the team
  • Editing and signing off the Info & Care and Size & Fit information in-keeping with the Harvey Nichols tone of voice, ensuring that copy is delivered in a timely manner within the product launch critical path
  • Editing and uploading any information fed through the buying teams who currently provide initial Beauty copy
  • Editing and uploading any information from the buying teams who currently provide details for Food & Wine copy
  • Owning the product copy guidelines for the in-house team and freelancers, ensuring they are applied consistently across site copy.
  • Compiling competitor analysis to identify any areas for improvement in the copy guidelines as well as in the workflow of the team
  • Providing comprehensive feedback to ensure growth and evolution of the writers' skills
  • Acting as a point of contact for the Customer Service team, updating copy where necessary
  • Taking ownership of the display size mapping in the PIM system, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all of our brands
  • Collaborating with Photo Studio Managers to ensure speed-to-site efficiency
  • Supporting the Copy & Content Manager in the delivery of SEO projects to improve and enhance the online copy across the site

  • Currently working as an editor or a copywriter
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced international e-commerce environment
  • A solid understanding of CMS pages
  • Excellent English language and writing skills coupled with faultless grammatical accuracy
  • Meticulous attention to detail and well-honed sub-editing skills
  • Project management experience
  • A balance of creative and commercial know-how
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
