Full Job Description

The successful candidate will play an important role within the Product Governance team and one of their key responsibilities will be to support the team to carry out the FCA Assessment of Value process. The candidate will also partner collaboratively with colleagues in multiple functions across Schroders, including (but not limited to) Product Strategy, Product Development, Investment, Client Group, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Audit.

The individual will ideally have experience as a product professional or have other equivalent experience which meets the required skill set.

We're also looking for someone with a keen interest in leveraging new technologies, including AI, to drive innovation and improve team effectiveness.

The base
The role is based in London, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

The team
The principal responsibility of the Product Governance team is to conduct independent oversight and monitoring to safeguard the best interests of Schroders' investors throughout the product lifecycle (encompassing idea generation, product design and development, and ongoing monitoring through to product closure).

The team is also responsible for carrying out the FCA Assessment of Value, the Consumer Duty Fair Value Assessment and regular performance reporting to relevant entity boards.

This is a small team, which enables individuals to have the autonomy to lead on work, interact frequently with senior people, and present to numerous Committees and entity Boards.

What you will do

  • Help to coordinate the annual FCA Assessment of Value including:

  • + Project manage the assessment process and maintain an up-to-date runbook and action log in order to meet the regulatory reporting deadlines;
    + Collate information from multiple functions and lead engagements with internal stakeholders, such as Investments, Finance, Fund Operations, Risk, Marketing, Performance;
    + Prepare materials and present to the Product Governance Committee and relevant internal Boards;
    + Work with Marketing and Creative teams to support the publication of the external FCA Assessment of Value report.
  • Support the coordination of Product Governance Committee meetings.

  • Actively engage with Client Group (and clients) to understand their needs and ensure our products and services meet their expectations.

  • Maintain awareness of competitor, regulatory and market developments.

  • Draft and maintain the quality of policy and procedures documentation.

  • Actively contribute and lead on ad hoc work and strategic projects as they arise.

    We're looking for someone who is proactive, inquisitive, and innovative, and who has a strong desire to focus on understanding and meeting client needs, ensuring that our products and services are tailored to deliver good client outcomes., Demonstratable delivery focused organisational/prioritisation and project management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to perform data reconciliation and analysis for example assess fund performance.

  • A strong interest in and willingness to learn and implement new technologies, including AI, to improve Product Governance processes and client outcomes.

  • Flexibility to multitask across multiple fund ranges and asset classes.

  • Good knowledge/experience of the asset management industry, including an understanding of investment products and structures e.g. UCITS.


  • The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
  • Qualifications within investment/asset management e.g. IMC, CAIA, CFA etc.

  • Familiarity with UK and EU regulation relating to asset management, for example AoV, MiFID, FCA Consumer Duty.

  • Wider experience within investment/asset management business.

  • Experience with AI or other innovative technologies is a plus.

  • A broad understanding of securities and instruments, portfolio management techniques, investment processes, and investment management products.
