Do you want a challenging but exciting opportunity to be part of a growing product team with a key place in the succession plan for the Head of Product role? There is a vision for Travel to become a top player in the Market therefore the are strong goals for growth. You would work closely with the Head of Product to support and develop the Travel product team, whilst looking after the design and governance of the Travel product suite to drive growth and deliver a good product which meets customer needs. The role will be dynamic offering a variety of projects and activities to deliver on the product roadmap. The Travel department also provides a unique opportunity to work closely with other areas of Travel. Being more of 'self contained' area provides a unique opportunity to get up and close on a regular basis with all areas of the product (such as Pricing and Claims), so it provides a great opportunity to learn and knowledge share. Main Duties:
- Take on assigned management duties and tasks for the Travel Product Area.
- Take responsibility for motivating the team on delivering on the Product Roadmap to achieve the Product Strategy.
- Support Product Managers by sharing best practices relating to product management, business relationship management and product governance.
- Ensure the appropriate systems and controls operate in the areas under your direct control.
- Understand the regulatory environment and how it impacts our products.
- Become a Product expert understanding how product features benefit our customers.
- Keep up to date with market threats, and industry and competitor trends. Identify opportunities and scope out areas of investigation to add to the roadmap.
- Being creative with ideas and finding ways to test and drive forward change.
- Monitoring MI on how the product is performing from a customer and commercial perspective and identify areas for improvement.
- Have a strong understanding of the wider relevant department MI.
- Understand how proposed changes would impact the customer outcome, as well as the commercial and operational impact on the business.
- Research, assimilate and present information to support recommendations in a suitable format (slides, formal papers, etc).
- Be a champion of best practice for Risk in the team.
- Represent Travel Product in key working groups by making decisions relevant to your SME duties.
Must be an effective communicator, able to build good relationships with the team and stakeholders (including third-party relationships). - Leadership and decision-making skills.
- Line Management and coaching experience.
- Able to assess the potential impact of emerging issues and opportunities and how to apply them in a business context.
- Be confident in numerical analysis and reporting.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and prepared to take a hands-on approach.
- Organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines.
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate's experience.
