Full Job Description

An exciting role has become available within WWH's Technology & Data team as a Product Owner . The role aims to support the implementation, evolution and on-going development of our products and business systems. You will act as the lead representative for our Finance and Development service areas, overseeing the whole product lifecycle to ensure products are effectively deployed, supported and continually improved ensuring they support key business processes and the delivery of excellent customer service. At WWH, we put our residents at the heart of everything we do. Our Development service area plays a vital role in ensuring that delivery of new homes and our projects have a positive impact on residents and local communities. We are dedicated to building a diverse range of homes, including flats, family houses, and extra care schemes, to meet the needs of everyone. Our Finance service area ensures the financial health and sustainability of WWH. They responsible for financial planning, and reporting, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support our mission of providing affordable housing.What will you be doing? You will act as the link between the service areas (Finance and Development), our Technology & Data team and suppliers. You will have sufficient knowledge of the technology, products, the operations and the needs of the Finance and Development service areas. For your product areas you will;

  • Focus on the 'what' by working with the service area / system owner to understand their needs, problems to solve and outcomes to inform the product / project vision and strategy.
  • Analyse business goals, objectives, functions and processes, using relevant information and data to support the definition of requirements.
  • Ensure that we are building the right thing and that the right problems are being solved in order of priority, that priority backlog items are refined and ready to be worked on.
  • Own technology product roadmaps / project plans and be responsible for ensuring products meet business and user requirements.
  • Manage technology related projects as required ensuring they are delivered on time and provide value for money.
  • Monitor performance on delivery of backlog items and identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and change velocity.
  • Manage competing priorities such as risks, feature requests, technical debt, and innovation time.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Software Engineers, System Testers and Delivery Teams., You will work from our office located in Cardiff, South Wales. WWH offers hybrid working, allowing staff to split their time between the office and working from home. Typically, this involves a schedule of 2-3 days in the office, depending on the specific requirements of your role and the needs of both customers and colleagues., Any relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours that make you suitable for the role

To help us deliver excellent customer service within Technology & Data and to the wider business you will have a proven track record in the following: -
  • Working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or other complementary role.
  • Working in an Agile environment utilising the complete software development lifecycle (Discovery, Analysis, Development, Test and Deploy).
  • Helping teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop technical product requirements including defining approaches to understand the user story based on input gathered from a variety of sources.
  • Project management of multiple projects, producing estimates of project timescales, delivery effort used to guide project planning and resource management.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with demonstrable ability to identify, analyse, manage and monitor relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of the Social Housing Sector/ Understanding of Finance and Accounting/ Understanding of new build development programmes are desirable.
