Full Job Description

  • Be proficient in leading technical conversations with customers and consumers of varying levels of technical background, including Product, Engineering, Senior Management and other Domain experts

  • Identify and take ownership of shortcomings and delivers improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures to deliver customer focused outcomes

  • Work in cross functional environments by working closely with software engineers, quality engineers, Infrastructure engineers and security engineers.

  • Define, deliver and adapt best practices to meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within the Group and the industry.

  • Have the ability to provide education and mentorship covering multiple devops and site reliability topics to support different teams on those topics, and drive upskilling

  • Ability to write Standards, Policies, Designs and other such collateral


  • Expected activities
  • Monitoring & Alerting: implementing continued enhancements to drive improvements for MTTD and MTTR

  • Automating Release Management: automating (CI/ CD), integrating and automating non-functional testing to accelerate deployment-frequency and lead-time

  • Operational Service: part of production support rota for the lab, alongside development engineers. Contributing to blameless post-mortems and implementing root cause fixes.

  • Automating Toil: remove the manual tasks required to operate the product

    Hands on experience with infrastructure as code i.e. Terraform, Chef, Ansible

  • A strong DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering background and knowledge of DevOps best practices

  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines to deliver changes incrementally to production

  • Experienced in day-to-day administration of Deploy and Release lifecycle activities

  • Strong familiarity with source code repositories particularly Git

  • Experience of build and deployment tools, e.g., Maven/Gradle, Jenkins2/Circle CI, Harness.IO, Nexus, Sonar

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or others (AWS, Azure) and OpenShift

  • Experience of containers, orchestration, and service mesh, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Istio

  • Experience or exposure to networks such as F5 and Firewalls

We're looking for a Product Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Cloud SRE team within the Cloud Platform.
