Product & Supply Chain Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join SwimTrek within the Product team. This key role involves managing in-life concepts and products that meet and exceed guest expectations and deliver on business strategy! The Product & Supply Chain Manager will work with the Head of Product in executing on the Product Plan, driving growth, and delivering excellent guest experiences. Responsible for management of the in-life product portfolio, managing supplier relationships and optimising the cost base. You will negotiate best commercial rates, terms and service level agreements. You will draw up and gain sign-off in a way that enhances supplier relationships. Then monitor quality of delivery against set criteria., Product Strategy & Planning:

• Lock in long term partnerships whilst optimising short term tactical opportunities.


• Capacity planning for bed and other inventory to deliver on the programme plan


• Optimise the total supply chain cost.


Research, Analysis & Forecasting


• Understand needs of targeted markets


• Market research and competitive analysis


Product Development & Management


• Drive innovation to enhance guest experience and incremental margin gains.


• Trip descriptions, information and set-up are factually correct and up to date


• Work with Operations to maintain swim itineraries incorporating action points


Supplier Chain Management


• Build and maintain strong, productive & effective two-way relationships with supplier partners


• Schedule & budget annual planning/inspection trips and networking events.


• Maintain supplier agreement documentation


Commercial Management


• Support Inventory Management


• Challenge the supplier cost base and agreement terms and generate improved rates for tactical activity


Quality Management


• Integrate Quality Management in all supply chain processes including Safety and Sustainability criteria


• Putting the customer at the heart of all decisions to deliver outstanding service and quality


• Investigate & report on supplier related issues & guest complaints


• Act as an escalation route and channel for colleagues and suppliers, in addressing all issues
  
  Excellent verbal & written communication skills and ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative


• Ability to build professional relationships with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures adapting the message accordingly


• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with suppliers from a variety of different countries, cultures backgrounds


• Commercially astute and able to demonstrable contractual knowledge


• To be able to manage, and make key quality management decisions


• Able to travel overseas and be flexible with working hours.


• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications


• Knowledge of software apps that improve efficiencies


• Training in Health and Safety for Tour Operator contracting


• Full driving License


• Experience of contracting Hotel and DMC product


• Experience of marine & transport services


• A swimmer who is open to and has knowledge of open water swimming


Desirable but not Essential


• To be able to speak a foreign language


• Passionate about adventure travel
