As a Production Apprentice, you'll learn a wide range of skills and gain a breadth of real life experience which may include helping to develop ideas and stories; learning how to use technical equipment and specialist software; assisting your team on location/in studio; finding guests and participants; researching content; creating content for social media; helping out/'running' on the studio floor; in a TV gallery or in a radio studio. All the while, you'll be learning content-making skills from experienced production team members as well as expert BBC trainers., This scheme starts in September 2025 and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 17 months., Apprentices starting at the BBC from September 2025 will be placed on a 'Fixed Term' contract. This means your contract is for the duration of your apprenticeship only. The BBC is committed to investing in new talent and as you approach the end of your apprenticeship, we will work with you to support you and offer you employability and networking training to help you secure your next role - this might be a job here at the BBC, or somewhere in the wider media industry.

• Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation., Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.

You'll learn on-the-job as part of a BBC production team, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, while working towards your Production apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers., The production teams in BBC Audio create and deliver more than 100 hours of original audio every day across Radio 1, 1Xtra, The Asian Network, Radio 2, 6Music, Radio 3, Radio 4 and the World Service, as well as content for BBC Sounds. Our podcasts and radio programmes are heard around the world. We work with some of the biggest names in music, entertainment and journalism and bring the greatest festivals and events to life for our audiences.
You could expect to work with the teams making speech programmes for Radio 4 such as Woman's Hour and Front Row in London and You & Yours in Salford. Our teams make programmes for 1Xtra and Asian Network in Birmingham - and The Archers. Radio 1 and 6 Music programmes are made in London and Salford. We produce the daytime programmes on Radio 2 and a variety of programmes on 6Music. If you are interested in Classical music, we have teams in London and we have a team making classical music programmes from Salford. BBC Audio also produces programmes in London for the World Service including Outlook and The Conversation.
