Full Job Description

If so, we are now recruiting for a Production Engineer to join our growing team at our factory based near Stockport, Greater Manchester where our facilities are for building, testing and servicing our instrumentation as well as housing a full R&D team. The role will report locally to the Team Lead Assembly & Test. Working in a scientific and technical environment you will be responsible for building and functional testing our Isotopic Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) instruments and interfacing products whilst adhering to quality standards, health & safety and environmental policies. With a positive and methodical approach, you will be encouraged to learn and develop skills to ensure the smooth running of production lines and the quality of output whilst collaborating effectively with the interfacing teams. Primary Responsibilities

  • Build IRMS systems
  • Build IRMS interface products
  • Functional testing of product (pre-test)
  • Perform quality inspection
  • Maintain and record assembly times via ERP system
  • Work collaboratively with the analytical test team
  • Discuss and solve complex problems with the production department

Acceptable qualifications include A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or 4, or equivalent NVQ Level 3
  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical fitting, or vacuum systems
  • Familiarity with design and production costs, including factors like waste, downtime, and rework
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a high proficiency in English
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities
  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Capable of working independently and with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team
  • A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to tasks
  • Strong time management skills, able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Assertive and resilient, with an adaptable attitude towards change
