Production Manager

In this role, you'll be working across all departments and platforms for CGTN Europe and liaising with HR and the Executive Office to ensure the smooth running of our daily operations and the accurate, efficient and sensitive flow of communication between various stakeholders. Job objectives:

• Promoting cross department collaboration to maximise efficiency on resource usage
• Newsroom logistics, resource and event management
• Work closely other desks to coordinate daily news coverage
• Work as required on forward planning to facilitate original, agenda-setting journalism across Europe, with special focus on Central and Eastern Europe
• Compile editorial and logistical information and distribute daily coverage plans to field crews, show producers and others
• Liaise with CMG on joint ventures and resource collaboration
• Manage special deployments, including filming schedules and budgets
• They will take a leading role in the forward planning of facilities required at future news and digital events and be capable of managing the deployment and on-site coordination
• Maintain accurate records of bookings and to track daily operating costs. Processing invoices for external vendors
• Manage, plan and control budgets, for freelancer staff & for large-planned news events.
  
  You will have extensive experience in planning and logistics and be used to the pressure of working in a live news environment
• You will be a team player, understanding the CGTN vision and strategic goals and how cross-platform management can contribute to making these happen
• With at least five years of experience in a similar role in an international newsroom, you will have strong editorial and logistical skills, with good knowledge of business news and global current affairs
• Be familiar with various government agencies in the UK and Europe
• Demonstrate experience of live newsgathering technology and transmission facilities
• Have a strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in breaking news scenarios
• The ability to juggle competing demands and priorities accordingly.
Desirable:
• Multilingual preferred
• Prince 2 or Agile trained.
