Production Operative

We are looking for a full-time Production Operative to assist with preparation of semi-finished products, conduct quality checks, pack manufactured goods and load delivery vehicles. We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. What is imperative is a keen eye, enthusiasm and a desire to learn and understand, matched with a positive, "jump-in" attitude. We will, in return offer as much assistance as is necessary to make you an effective, contributing member of the team.

Duties include (but not limited to):

• Ensure that all signs are manufactured to the highest level of accuracy and quality


• Inspect or test products prior to despatch


• Linishing of materials and assembly of part manufactured products


• Packing of products to avoid damage during transport, and loading them onto delivery vehicles


• Checking in deliveries, ensuring items received are in good condition and match against delivery notes


• Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, safe and hazard free and report any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures


• Assist in other areas of production as instructed according to the needs of the business
  
  Must have good communication skills and a good command of the English language to effectively read work instructions


• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand and follow relevant procedures, standards and instructions accurately


• Flexible and positive approach to daily duties and training, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, having an open mind and willingness to learn


• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions


Desirable

• Experience in despatch or quality control


• Ability to read technical drawings


• Forklift licence
  
  Ashby Trade Sign Supplies Ltd is a family owned privately held trade supplier to the UK signage industry. Our company of over twenty-five years designs and fabricates raw aluminium into component, semi-finished or fully finished (vinyl or printed graphics) signage systems in our 32,000sqft factory located just outside Basingstoke.


The core principles of speed and efficiency are the focus of everything that we do to satisfy both customer requirements and profitability of the business.

Our factory is running from 07.00 - 19.00 Monday to Friday and we guarantee a minimum of 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day. Depending on workload, your normal working hours would cover 07.00 - 18.00 with two 15-minute unpaid breaks (up to one hour can be taken each day), but flexible arrangements can also be discussed.

We are offering around £35,490 per year based on an hourly rate of £13, working between 07.00 - 18.00.
