Full Job Description

As a Production Operative you will be maintaining the smooth operation of the plant and equipment at pumping stations and storage sites, maintaining chemical stock levels essential for the continuous operation of production facilities., The Production Operative will carry out production site security checks and acts as a second person, working alongside our production technicians as required (tower checks as an example). The role involves operating within health and safety standards, executing simple repairs, and managing the transportation of dangerous goods. What you'll be doing: Health & Safety: Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, adhering to environmental guidelines and risk assessment protocols. Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving site safety and operational efficiency. Customer Focus: Exhibit customer-centric behaviour by representing Affinity Water positively, fostering trust and reliability in all interactions. Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding with colleagues, contractors, and customers. Chemical Management: Perform regular chemical top-ups, monitor chemical levels, and place orders to ensure continuous operation of production facilities and support on taking deliveries. Maintenance Support: Assist with basic planned maintenance tasks, including working at heights, confined spaces, reservoir checks, basic care rounds, calibrations and conducting site security checks. Survey & Reporting: Carry out site surveys, report findings, and provide data to support decision-making. Stock Management: Monitor and manage stock levels in local stores, placing orders as necessary to maintain operational efficiency. IT Proficiency: Utilise Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) for updating procedures, creating spreadsheets, and supporting other IT-related tasks.

· Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices specific to the water industry. · Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. · Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives effectively. · Experience in risk assessment. · Familiarity with regulatory bodies and compliance requirements within the water industry. . Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. · Resilient and capable of prioritising tasks under pressure. · Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Hours of work: Operational - 08:00am - 16:00pm (Monday - Thursday) 08:00am - 15:30pm (Friday)
