Full Job Description

Production Operative will possess a strong manufacturing and assembly background, ideally gained within the Aerospace and Defence sector or another low to medium volume Technology sector. The role is to ensure that the assembly of products are carried out to the required Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements.

Key areas of responsibility include:
Prepare and assemble units/PCB s (including soldering) in accordance with detailed work instruction sheets, customer specific drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret complex CCA drawings, including systems and notes
Verify that routings and detailed Work Instruction Sheets have been followed for all activities
Adhere to the Company s quality operating procedures at all times during the execution of day to day assembly activities, complying with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, AS9100 and NADCAP procedures where required
Ensure compliance to the Company s Health and Safety and Environmental procedures
Become proficient in the procedures and processes relevant to the position and to highlight training needs when required
Act at all times in accordance with the terms and conditions described in the Employee s contract of employment
Apply a professional and conscious approach in your day to day operations
Engage in 5s activities as required by local supervision and other Lean events when required to do so
Carry out any other duties commensurate with your skills

Proven and demonstrable experience of working within electronic assembly/PCB operations, ideally within the defence or aerospace sector
A good understanding of Health and Safety Management within an engineering/manufacturing environment
The ability to demonstrate attention to detail and produce a high standard of work, apply a right first time approach
Ideally qualified to IPC and JSTD soldering standards
Willingness and desire to learn new skills and invest in professional development
Excellent communications skills with proven experience of engaging and building relationships within a team
