Production Operator

An opportunity has arisen for a Production Operator at Pilkington Plyglass, reporting to the relevant Production Chargehand. The purpose of the role is to be part of a production team specialising in producing high quality products in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. The main responsibilities will be to:

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with our H&S policy.
• Ensure all quality standards are adhered to and safe operating procedures are followed.
• Liaise with team members in order to problem solve and ensure continuity of production.
• Achieve the shift work plan and take corrective action when necessary, ensuring that all information is communicated through the Chargehand.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of any changes to procedures.
• Complete all relevant documentation in order that accurate records are maintained.
• Provide information to the Chargehand in order for them to act on any potential problems that arise.
• Ensure all operator maintenance regimes are performed and the appropriate documentation is completed.

• Able to pay attention to detail without losing site of the big picture
• Able to stay calm and work quickly under pressure
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
