Full Job Description
General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Production Quality Technician to join our Quality Team, based in Merthyr, South Wales. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £34,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the production quality roles within general dynamics uplift and AIT line (Assembly, Integration and Test); coordinating with the production quality engineer ensuring optimum standards of quality, service and efficiency are achieved to meet schedule demands. If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
- Carry out Inspection based work using inspection tooling
- Disposition MRB (Material review Board) stock (Dispositioning of non-conforming product)
- Ensure operator compliance to work instructions/documentation.
- Conduct on site purge activity (Review and segregation of non-conforming production)
- Carry out containment activity on build incidents
- Promote and improve the profitability of all line side processes / activity.
- Deal with queries from other departments when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned, A compressed nine-day fortnight - which means every other Friday off!

Quality experience (2-5 years Preferred) - Quality Background
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Metrology experience Faro Arm (Preferred)
- Assembly related experience (Preferred)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Quality engineering knowledge
- Work well under tight timescales and pressured environments
- Be flexible with working times, work until job completion when necessary
- Computer literate; Windows (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
