Full Job Description

As a Prep Room Supervisor you will support the effectiveness of the Prep Room Function ensuring that the products and service provided to our customers is of the highest standard. You will support the Prep Room management team in the running of the departments and stand in for the Prep Room Manager when required. What you will do: Production:

  • Respond to & resolve any production issues within your team and escalate where necessary.
  • Ensure that all stock is rotated on a daily basis.
  • Report all faults or damage to equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure that operational standards are maintained within the Prep Room to the highest possible level regarding service, cleaning standards and ensuring there is minimal wastage.
  • Health and Safety / Food Safety:
  • Supervise the working area, to ensure that all aspects of your production area are co-ordinated to create a professional, safe, hygienic working environment.
  • Supervise the team in the Prep Room ensuring that there is a smooth flow of work, determining quality and appearance of the finished product.
  • Train your team and ensure they have a full understanding of using prep room machinery safely.
  • Ensure your team adhere strictly to food safety and health and safety procedures.
  • Supervisory:
  • In the absence of the Prep Room Manager, taking responsibility for paperwork, orders, cleaning, staff and quality.
  • Establish and use clear lines of communication with Prep Room Management and other colleagues.
  • Set an example of the standards of conduct and timekeeping expected within the business.
  • Escalate any conduct issues and concerns to the Prep Room Team Leaders.

    Supervisory experience in an industrial setting would be advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to follow through to resolution.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and delegate as required.
