  • About the Role As a Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for a section of the assembly process for a system or vehicle, the Production Team Leader supports the Production Supervisor with the day-to-day management of their allocated area. Overseeing a number of Production operatives, the Team Leader is key to ensuring the efficient operation of the department and achieving delivery milestones whilst maintaining quality standards and fostering a safe working culture. As a Production Team Leader you shall provide support to all team members which includes the development of junior members such as apprentices and will also act as a technical competence when assessing and training fellow operatives. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Promoting a safe working environment by ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work and continually working to identify safer ways of working.
  • Directly impact the SQCDP metrics (safety, quality, cost, delivery, people) and provide escalation for non-adherence if required.
  • Ensure efficient start up and end of shift routine which will enable the operation to achieve daily KPI's.
  • Monitor working standards, coaching the team to continuously improve the processes and abilities of team members.
  • Maintaining local area standards through housekeeping and best practice working.
  • Provide support and input into continuous improvement activities within the team and the wider business.
  • Supporting other reviews as required by the business as a delegated member of the production management team., This role is required to be based on-site full time
  • There may be occasional travel
  • There may a need for flexibility to meet the needs of the projects as required
  • Based in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall Land Systems specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence and security operations across the globe. Other core services include the integration of complex systems into a range of vehicles for use by the military and security services including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances all underpinned by a full in-life managed service provision to ensure customers' equipment is available where and when they need it

  • Substantial experience in vehicle body building, mechanical fitting, or equivalent trade.
  • Competent in Manufacturing and Assembly processes and techniques.
  • Competence in reading engineering drawings and associated data.
  • Experience in training individuals is desirable
  • Experience:
  • Competent written and verbal skills.
  • Proactive leadership style with the ability to use initiative and work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Experience of leading a team of production operatives.
  • Ability to interact with all members of the team and at all levels within the business.
  • Behavioural Competencies:
  • Supporting and encouraging, able to identify the wellbeing needs of team members but also their areas for development technically and professionally.
  • Understand own responsibilities and the responsibilities of the wider team so that there is clear direction and understanding of everyone's goals and objectives each and every day.

  • Have a constructive approach to dealing with conflict. Help team members to speak out; encourage the team to resolve differences and support team members in managing conflict
  • Education:
  • Completed a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting or a Manufacturing and Assembly Qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferable however training could be required
