Full Job Description

Purpose of role: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Production Technician with a strong interest in sound, lighting, and construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the technical aspects of theatre productions, ensuring high-quality performances and maintaining the theatre's technical equipment and facilities., Sound Engineering:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain sound equipment for rehearsals and performances.

  • Have a basic knowledge Of Qlab

  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues during performances.


  • Lighting:
  • Operate ETC lighting consoles.

  • Perform basic lighting tasks such as cutting Gel and fitting gobos

  • Maintain and repair lighting fixtures and equipment.


  • Set Construction and Maintenance:
  • Assist in the construction, installation, and dismantling of sets and scenery.

  • Ensure sets are safe, functional, and meet design specifications.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on set pieces and props.


  • General Technical Support:
  • Collaborate with designers, and other technical staff to achieve production goals.

  • Assist with rigging, stage management, and other technical tasks as needed.

  • Maintain an organized and safe working environment in all technical areas.

    Proficiency with sound and lighting equipment, including consoles, microphones, speakers, and lighting fixtures.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, as required by the production schedule.

  • A strong interest in producing Theatre.


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree or certification in technical theatre, sound engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a theatre environment.


  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
