Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Practitioner Psychologist (30 hours per week) to lead the Community Neuropsychology Services in Exeter and Barnstaple.
There are currently separate neuropsychology services covering the Exeter East and Mid Devon, and North Devon areas. A key part of this role will be to bring these services together and align them with neuro-rehabilitation services provided by the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The role will also include providing clinical leadership to the wider health and neuropsychology team, based across Exeter and Barnstaple. This includes providing relevant supervision and working closely with the service manager to support service development, appropriate governance and contract management.
You will be part of a dynamic team, committed to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working, including linking in with community services and the third sector. The service team are enthusiastic and committed to the continuing transformation of the service, hoping to make it a service that meets the requirements and philosophy of the NHS Long Term Plan., This role will have oversight of Clinical Neuropsychology services across Exeter, east, Mid and North Devon. A key responsibility of this role will be to coordinate the services, which current operate independently, and work to ensure batter parity of service across the areas covered. The role will work to ensure that neuropsychology services can support neuro-rehabilitation services, which are provided by the Royal Devon NHS University Healthcare Trust.
Working at an operational and highly specialist clinical level, the post-holder will work to improve client access and reduce waiting times, whilst ensuring that Clinical Neuropsychology services deliver high clinical standards, make best use of scarce resources and develop evidence based practice that meets the needs of people using the service.
The post-holder will also act as one of two professional leads for the wider health and neuropsychology team. This will include ensuring appropriate overall governance for the range of services held within the team, taking on relevant supervisory responsibilities and providing management and clinical leadership.
