Are you ready to play a pivotal role in transforming audiology services? Powys Teaching Health Board is excited to announce an opportunity for a Professional Head of Service. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiologist to join us. You will have the chance to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality care for patients of Powys.
Reporting operationally to the Head of Therapies and Healthcare Science Services and the professionally Executive Director of Allied Health Professional and Healthcare Science the post holder will be responsible for the budget, professional practice and delivery of the whole range of the Audiology services and Ear Care Nurse Services. They will work with the team members in building strong cross-professional relationships and networks internally and externally. They will undertake clinical/professional duties carrying out highly complex testing on patients majority of which will be non routine.
The postholder should be a registered Clinical Scientist or Audiologist, registered with the HCPC or AHCS. Ideally the applicant should be working at or towards registration as a consultant clinical scientist with the AHCS Higher Specialist Scientist Register., The Head of Audiology is a professional leader within the Therapies and Health Science services providing professional leadership and advice to the Audiology Service and the organisation.
Operational management of the Audiology portfolio and other delegated services across Powys e.g. Ear Care. Providing advice on a wide range of service matters to patients, service users, carers and clinicians.
Development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive clinical services within own portfolio. Lead on specific clinical audits, research and quality improvement projects.
The postholder should have an MSc in audiology or equivalent level of experience.
