Full Job Description

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a busy administrative role with a range of deadlines and priorities to join the School of Applied Sciences to support our clinical placement provision.
Your role will include coordinating the administration and organisation of student professional placements for the Overseas Pharmacist Assessment Programme (OSPAP), which has doubled its student numbers this year. This will include liaising with placement providers and ensuring that we have sufficient placements for our students.
You will ensure that all administrative operations in support of professional placements comply with school and university processes and policies, are carried out effectively and suggesting amendments and improvements as necessary to meet changing requirements.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to keep abreast of national trends relating to external engagement and placements. Ensuring these trends or potential changes are fed back to appropriate colleagues for this information to be considered when designing placements.
To be effective in the role you will need

o The ability to work positively as a member of a team
o An understanding of the Higher Education sector and particularly placement administration
o Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
o High level analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills
In addition, to the eight Bank Holidays, there are university discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. All leave, including bank holidays and discretionary days, is pro-rated for part time employees.
