Full Job Description
As part of the controlling team, this role will lead on all finance matters primarily relating to various programs including Airbus. This includes industrial, aftermarket (including significant retrofit activity) and engineering activity and will be the key Finance Business Partner, chiefly, provide reporting, and budgeting and planning business support. This roles is key to being the prime finance support for Original Equipment, Spares & royalty financial management - supporting MRO & R&D as required. Acts as a proactive and trusted Advisor to the business, challenging the business to examine problems, issues, risks and opportunities to create solutions that drive improved business performance as well as adhering to corporate policies or requirements relating to accounting activities. -UK & US Programs scope primarily Airbus. -No staff to manage -Some travel locally and/or abroad in France when necessary
- Working closely with the Business Development department and the Program managers concerned, support the preparation of business plans and update them regularly according to the changes in the program, but also for updating their data. Use these BP for Impairment Tests made semi-annually.
- Assist the BD managers in the development of commercial offers.
- Contribute to improving the profitability of the programs by analysing the financial impacts of business decisions, calculating monthly P&Ls, preparing dashboards and attending monthly review meetings.
- Participate & lead the monthly rolling forecast cycle, supporting in the development of Medium Term Plan, annual budget and any budget updates for Programs throughout the year.
- Acting as a business partner to Program Managers and program team through building effective relationships and influencing both through reasoned argument and in a sophisticated way.
- Extended P&L Analysis with a view to identifying opportunities for improvement and aiding Programs in understanding drivers for performance, variances and impact on program contribution.
- Coordinate program reporting with the other Business units to enable Division consolidation and accurate eliminations.
- Drive Program culture across the business and Finance to ensure full alignment of all other Finance Business Partners into a Program orientated mind set.
- Support the month end process, preparing journals, supporting intercompany reconciliations and providing key explanations.
- Support adhoc reporting including weekly sales and cost of sales reporting - aligned with Financials.
- Opex reporting responsibilities may be required on a limited scope.
- Provide 2-Deep Cover on Purchase order approval and Capex.
- Recommend improvement opportunities.

- The role requires a part or full qualification in Accounting or QBE and solid experience in a manufacturing environment in a multi-disciplined area
- Experience of IFRS requirements
- Computer literate with advanced Excel
- Experience of identifying and thinking about ways to resolve issues such as budget overspend, as well as opportunities that have increased sales and margin
- Experience of SAP & Power BI would be beneficial
- Previous experience as a cost accountant or corporate accountant would be beneficial
