Full Job Description

  • To act as line manager to Engineering Program Leads (EPLs) and set the teams objectives

  • To oversee the delivery of development programs from point of award to Production handover

  • Interface with Customers, Collins Partners and Suppliers.

  • To facilitate cross-functional collaboration throughout the business.

  • To control the PMO processes and contribute to continued improvement of process and procedure.


  • Scope:
  • Input of Program considerations to the quoting process.

  • Oversight of Program scope of work.

  • Management of Program priorities, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Customer point of contact for Program scope of work and escalation of progress issues. Attendance of key program milestone events where applicable.

  • Deals with broad issues of a complex status.

  • Reporting of Program performance to the senior management team.

  • Contributing the visibility and reporting of engineering team progress.

  • Infrequent national or international travel is a requirement.

  • Owner and key stakeholder in the entirety of the value stream gated process., Management and coordination of the baseline activity for each program.

  • Provide input into the content of Program Management processes and creation of procedures and "standard-work" documentation where applicable.

  • Monitoring for Program scope changes and the directing of new enquiries through Sales.

  • Monitoring of performance against processes for the adherence to AS9100 requirements. Collation and reporting of PMO KPIs and Program Performance data.

  • Line Management activities for direct reporting positions. Ie. Performance reviews, attendance, workloads etc.

  • Identifying and addressing conflicts that arise during the program and finding win-win solutions to benefit all parties.

  • The solving of difficult problems and escalation of complex issues to the Snr. Sales and Program Manager.

  • Collection of Program data from EPLs for presentation to wider stakeholders.

  • Oversee qualification readiness of programs and mediate readiness reviews.

  • Building strong interdepartmental relationships, communicating effectively, and motivating colleagues towards shared goals.

  • Supports with the recruitment of additional people within the team.

    Organised and analytical and has the ability to prioritise workloads.

  • The ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional teams of people.

  • Proven high proficiency on MS Excel and general proficiency in MS office and Project (or similar).

  • Management of metrics, dashboard creation and clear reporting skills.

  • A high aptitude for problem solving, particularly where negotiations in priorities are concerned.

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, team members and partners.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure in a busy environment.

  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and interact with staff members at all levels within the business.

  • Experience in a process driven environment, working to recognised standards or regulations.

  • Several years of experience in a Project or Engineering discipline [essential].

  • Previous experience of line management or supervising a small team [essential].
